Ronaldo Awaits Ban Decision
Cristiano Ronaldo will discover on Wednesday if his behaviour during Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Cordoba will see him banned for Real Madrid’s clash with Atletico Madrid on February 7.
The Portugal international is waiting to find out how many games he could miss after being sent off for the first time this season for kicking Cordoba’s Edimar Fraga.
The Spanish football’s disciplinary committee meet on Wednesday, which is when a decision is expected.
Ronaldo also slapped Jose Crespo during the win at Cordoba, but that went unnoticed by referee Alejandro Hernandez Hernandez.
Other games coming up that the Ballon d’Or winner could miss include Real Sociedad and Sevilla, who are Los Blancos’ next two opponents before the battle for bragging rights in the Spanish capital.
Ronaldo has had a remarkable season, scoring 28 goals and providing nine assists in just 18 league appearances.
Real lead the Primera Division standings, four points clear and with a game in hand ahead of defending La Liga champions and city rivals Atletico, who are third.
